Dental Extractions (Oral Surgery)

Simple, Surgical & some Wisdom Teeth

Teeth extractions are performed for various reasons, but most commonly to
remove teeth that are non-restorable due to extensive decay, periodontal disease or trauma.

There are times that we have to remove Wisdom teeth when they do not have enough room to erupt normally and are impacted causing pain & damages to adjacent teeth.

Our highly skilled & experience dentists at Torrance Smile Dental Care will perform most extractions under local anesthetic without having to worry about side affects of General Sedation. We use the latest techniques and anesthetic so you will feel the least minimal pain, if any, during extraction. Almost all patients say they only felt Pressure as the tooth was being removed and had no complain of pain.

Bone Grafting

The most common reason for a dental bone graft is to prevent bone loss following a tooth extraction. These are called “socket grafts” because the bone-graft material is inserted into the empty socket left by the extracted tooth.

Specifically, it is your alveolar ridge (along with periodontal tissue) that will shrink down in the months and years following tooth loss or tooth extraction.  A large portion of bone resorption takes place within 3 to 6 months of tooth removal.

At Torrance Smile Dental Care we offer Bone-graft to be placed at the time of extraction to prevent this bone loss. Bone grafting is painless and makes the post op less painful as it speeds up the healing process.

Dental Root Canal

When the inside of your tooth (the pulp) becomes inflamed or infected as a result of deep decay, repeated dental procedures, faulty crowns or a crack or chip in the tooth, it’s necessary to have Endodontic or Root Canal Treatment done to save your tooth. Trauma to your tooth may also cause pulp damage even if the tooth has no visible chips or cracks. If pulp inflammation or infection is left untreated, it can cause severe pain or lead to an abscess. The other option than Root Canal is extraction and loss of tooth.

When you undergo a Root Canal Treatment, the inflamed or infected pulp is removed and the inside of the tooth is carefully cleaned and disinfected, then filled and sealed with a rubber-like material. Afterwards, the tooth is restored with a Crown or filling for protection and will continue to function like any other tooth.

Our expert & experienced dentists at Torrance Smile Dental Care help you maintain your natural smile, continue eating the foods you love and limit the need for ongoing dental work by performing your Root Canal Treatment with the least minimal pain possible. With proper care, most teeth that have had Root Canal Treatment can last a lifetime.

Dental Cleaning / Periodontal Procedures

The Torrance Dental Association recommends visiting your dentist at least every six months for a routine checkup and cleaning. This helps prevent problems or catch them early, so they’re easier and less expensive to fix.

At Torrance Smile Dental Care we perform a comprehensive periodontal (Gum & Bone) exam, which are the foundation of your teeth, to make sure they are healthy & intact. In addition to losing your teeth due to untreated periodontal disease (gingivitis) it can cause multiple systemic conditions such as Diabetes, Heart Attack, Stroke and pregnancy issues.

We customize cleanings on the basis of your periodontal health. We utilize localized antibiotic (Arestin) along with subgingival irrigation of antimicrobial medicine in problem areas if necessary. Ultrasonic scalars are sometimes used to make the procedure more comfortable and effective as well.

You should contact our office to schedule an appointment for examination and proper Hygiene treatment before it’s too late and your teeth become loose.

Dental Inlays & Onlays

These are types of fillings that are not directly applied on the teeth but are instead prepared by a dental laboratory and then cemented to the tooth in the office. Inlays and Onlays are recommended for larger cavities or when there is insufficient tooth structure to support an amalgam or composite filling, but the tooth is not severely damaged enough to need a crown.

At Torrance Smile Dental Care we use the Strongest and most Cosmetic Inlay & Onlay materials like Zirconia & Special Porcelain which can last you beautifully for many years if properly taken care of.
